CREATIVE KEYBOARD INSTRUCTION AND PERFORMANCE
ROBERT BOWMAN, D.M.A. is now accepting a limited number of students for for fall enrollment in private and group keyboard instruction.
All levels (beginner through professional, teachers/performers, ages 5-adult)
Individualized approach (based on needs, interests/goals, level, and learning style of student)
Reasonable Rates (1/2 hour@$30; ¾ hour$40; one hour@$50; Professionals@$75/hour).
Private and Group Instruction offered in the following:
Piano (Classical, Blues, Jazz
Harpsichord (including 17th-18th century ornamentation & figured bass realization)
Electronic Keyboard
Keyboard Music Theory
Chamber Music and Accompanying
Improvisation (classical, blues, jazz, ethnic)
Lessons cover a comprehensive range of musical activities from learning basic concepts and skills (such as  reading skills, ear training, development of efficient/effective practice methods, learning and memorizing pieces from many styles/eras),  developing an effective/ stress-free technique, developing confidence in performing situations, and understanding the creative process through the study of music theory and analysis, improvisation and composition.
BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Robert Bowman has performed as a keyboard recitalist, collaborative keyboardist (chamber music and accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists), and as a soloist with orchestra since 1961.  He has performed and taught throughout the continental United States and Hawaii, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Japan, and Mexico.  Dr. Bowman received the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Piano with Harpsichord Performance from the University of Southern California), the Master of Arts Degree in Orchestral Conducting and BA in Music from Stanford University.
He has taught privately since 1963 and has served on the music faculties of University of Southern California (1965-9), Eastern Illinois University (1961-71), and California State University, Chico where he coordinated the Keyboard Performance and Pedagogy Program from 1971-2003.  He retired from CSU, Chico as Professor Emeritus in 2008. He currently is serves as a faculty member of the Sacramento School of Music, maintains a private studio, performs in a wide range of venues, presents workshops and master classes, and is available for consultations.
Dr. Bowman is a member of the following professional organizations:

Sacramento Branch of The California Association of Professional Music Teachers
